Alpinestars Andes V3 Drystar – Touring trousers for all weather conditions
- Runs slightly small: Go up a size if you are normally at the upper end of your size range
Longer tours quickly reveal whether motorcycle trousers really deliver what they promise. The Andes V3 Drystar from Alpinestars is designed precisely for such requirements – waterproof when it rains, breathable when it gets warm and with the protection you need. Thanks to the exclusive Drystar® membrane, not a single drop of water remains in the trousers. The removable thermal lining? You can put it in or take it out, depending on the season. With strategically placed ventilation openings and a movement-friendly fit, these trousers are your reliable companion for touring, adventure and everything in between. If you're looking for everyday trousers that not only look good but also deliver in real conditions, you've come to the right place.

What sets the Andes V3 Drystar apart in practice
The core feature of these trousers is the Drystar® construction, and anyone who has tested this with Alpinestars knows what we are talking about. It simply works in the rain – the membrane is a fixed, permanent solution, not an additional lining that you could forget. This makes the trousers more reliable in the long term. The removable thermal lining is made of 100% polyester and is padded; in summer, you can take it out and have lighter, more breathable trousers. In autumn and winter, it stays in and provides the necessary warmth. You'll notice this clearly in stop-and-go traffic – your legs won't get wet with sweat like they would in trousers without a membrane.
The ventilation openings are strategically located on the thighs – the areas where most heat accumulates in summer. You can control the air circulation yourself with a zip. This is practical: when travelling at 100 km/h on the motorway, you don't want to be completely ventilated, but what about when it's 35 degrees in the city? Then open vents are worth their weight in gold. The fit is pre-shaped – especially at the knees. This means that the trousers fit in the natural riding position and do not flap in the wind like some generic touring trousers. The knee protectors are removable and adjustable in position – this is not a gimmick, but practical. You can position them exactly where your knee needs them, not where the manufacturer thinks they should be. The Nucleon Flex Plus Level 1 protectors offer solid shock absorption without being too bulky. The abrasion-resistant material is reinforced in the knee areas – where it gets tough in the event of a fall. Reflectors are integrated; they are discreet, but they are there – important for visibility in poor light. What riders particularly appreciate: the adjustable, removable braces. It's a small thing, but it makes a big difference. The trousers stay where they should, don't slip when cornering, and you can still adjust them when stationary if they don't fit. The cargo pockets are not waterproof, but they are practical for smaller items. The long zip connection to the Andes jacket? This is standard for Alpinestars and works reliably – a small detail with great significance for complete systems.
