CORDURA
Cordura consists of 100% polyamide fibers that are cut, glued, spun again and then made into a fabric. Cordura is manufactured in different yarn counts and has a much higher abrasion resistance than normal nylon. Rukka only uses Cordura with a yarn count of at least 500 D, bringing the safety standard to a very high level.
D3O AIR protectors system
All Rukka motorcycle jackets and pants are equipped with the patented breathable Rukka Air protectors. The protectors comply with the CE EN 1621-2 2012 standard and work in any climate. Due to the close cooperation of the companies Rukka and D3O a special D3O material was developed only for Rukka and then processed with an exclusive design in all joint protectors and components of the back protectors.
OUTLAST®
Concentration, responsiveness and thus also the active driving safety depend decisively on how well a motorcyclist feels. Modern functional clothing increases well-being on motorcycle tours considerably. It protects the driver from moisture and cold while ensuring the necessary moisture transport from the inside to the outside. Just as important is the temperature that prevails inside the clothing. Among the desirable conditions under a protective suit is therefore the creation of a thermal equilibrium - it must be neither too warm nor too cool. A challenge for garment manufacturers, as body and ambient temperatures can change rapidly even on short stages.
A solution to this problem was presented by Rukka with the Outlast® fabric used for the first time in the 2001 collection, which, as part of the lining, prevents rapid temperature changes in clothing, thus contributing to a comfortable thermal equilibrium.
Developed for NASA's astronauts Outlast®, a high-tech product, uses state-of-the-art PCM materials that change their state of aggregation depending on the ambient temperature (so-called phase change materials). Originally designed for NASA's astronauts, who are exposed to extreme changes in temperature when working outside the sun and the dark side of their spaceship, motorcyclists now also benefit from the power of this advanced technology. An essential component of Outlast® are microscopic ceramic balls filled with a special wax. Temperature Compensation for Motorcyclists The effect of balancing temperature fluctuations is based on the fact that the wax contained in the balls deprives its surroundings of energy during melting, thereby delaying the temperature rise within the clothing. If the wax returns to a solid state when the temperature drops, it returns the stored energy to its environment. The released heat prevents now too fast cooling under the clothing. Thanks to the processes described, the Outlast® fabric acts as a temperature-balancing buffer. Under the driving clothes, it does not overheat so quickly, on the other hand, the process of cooling is slowed down. Outlast® is less insulating than regulative. The phase transition temperature of the wax filling is balanced to the normal body temperature.
3M SCOTCHLITE
Scotchlite ™ reflective material enhances your safety. In daylight, this material looks normal, but with direct headlight illumination in the dark, the reflector reflects material in bright white.
