The special features of the Sympatex motorcycle jacket Talismen from Modeka
Sympatex®
The Sympatex® membrane consists of a copolymer of polyester (water-repellent effect) and polyether (water vapor-permeable effect). The weight is approx. 30 g per jacket or 2 g per shoe. No water can penetrate from the outside (water column:> 45,000 mm), but water vapor molecules are guided through the membrane from the inside to the outside in a physical-chemical way. The advantage: Since there are no pores, they cannot be clogged by detergent residues or salt crystals. Accordingly, the breathability is maintained in the long term.
The Sympatex® membrane is a closed, hydrophilic polyester membrane, which means it has no pores. The membrane is only 1/100 mm thin, transparent and slightly opaque, 100% waterproof, 100% windproof and optimally breathable. This gives the wearer absolute independence from the weather - and that at every opportunity. The Sympatex® membrane is 100% recyclable. It consists of harmless polyetherester and is therefore absolutely environmentally friendly.
DuPont ™ Aramid®
The DuPont ™ Aramid® material combines strength with light weight. Aramid® is woven from aramid and nylon fibers. The extremely abrasion and tear-resistant material is five times stronger than steel for the same weight. The use of Aramid® is therefore ideally suited for motorcycle clothing and is mainly used at crash sites. Modeka also uses Aramid® on some textile trousers as protection from the exhaust.
SAS-TEC®
Protectors with the highest shock absorption values and the best wearing comfort,
Joint protectors comply with EN-1621-1: 2012, the back protectors with EN 1621-2: 2014.
Dimensionally stable with memory effect: after external forces, the foam returns to its original shape after a short time.
Multi-impact: In contrast to many other damping materials, the foams from SAS-TEC are multi-impact. That means: the protectors are reusable after a fall.
Lightweight: The density of the SAS-TEC foam is around 280 g / l, hard-shell protectors weigh around 1050 g / l.
Adapted damping behavior: The air trapped in the cells of the foam causes progressive damping. The damping performance increases proportionally with the force effects that occur at high speed.
Environmentally friendly: The raw material for foam production is partly made from renewable raw materials. The protectors can easily be disposed of with household waste.
Long service life: Some protector manufacturers only state two to three years for their products - the service life of SAS-TEC foam is around ten years.
Temperature-resistant: Thanks to a special mixture, SAS-TEC foam is temperature-resistant up to around 100 degrees Celsius.
Best wearing comfort: thanks to the high elasticity of the foam
Hand washable: The water absorption is less than 1%, the protectors can therefore be washed by hand without hesitation.
3M Scotchlite ™
In twilight and in the dark, 3M Scotchlite ™ significantly improves the visibility of motorcyclists. Scotchlite ™ reflective materials have an open, very wide-angled reflective system made of catadioptric glass spheres. Other reflective materials, because of their nature, require direct light to function. Scotchlite ™ emits light brilliantly white and tightly bundled back to the light source, even if it does not strike directly. Silver Scotchlite ™ surpasses even the highest European standards in simulated heavy rainfall.
